CELE ZECE PORUNCI

Atunci Dumnezeu a rostit toate aceste cuvinte, si a zis:

Eu sint Domnul, Dumnezeul tau, care te-a scos din tara Egiptului, dincasa robiei.

Sa nu ai alti dumnezei afara de Mine.

Sa nu-ti faci chip cioplit, nici vreo infatisare a lucrurilor cari sintsus in ceruri, sau jos pe pamint, sau in apele mai de jos de cit pamintul.

Sa nu te inchini inaintea lor, si sa nu le slujesti; caci Eu, Domnul,Dumnezeul tau, sint un Dumnezeu gelos, care pedepsesc nelegiuirea parintilorin copii pina la al treilea si la al patrulea neam al celor ce Ma urasc,si Ma indur pina la al miilea neam de cei ce Ma iubesc si pazesc poruncileMele.

Sa nu iei in desert Numele Domnului, Dumnezeului tau; caci Domnul nuva lasa nepedepsit pe cel ce va lua in desert Numele Lui.

Adu-ti aminte de ziua de odihna, ca s-o sfintesti.
Sa lucrezi sase zile, si sa-ti faci lucrul tau.
Dar ziua a saptea este ziua de odihna inchinata Domnului, Dumnezeuluitau: sa nu faci nicio lucrare in ea, nici tu, nici fiul tau, nici fiicata, nici robul tau, nici roaba ta, nici vita ta, nici strainul care estein casa ta.Caci in sase zile a facut Domnul cerurile, pamintul si marea,si tot ce este in ele, iar in ziua a saptea S-a odihnit: de aceea a binecuvintatDomnul ziua de odihna si a sfintit-o.

Cinsteste pe tatal tau si pe mama ta, pentruca sa ti se lungeasca zilelein tara, pe care ti-o da Domnul, Dumnezeul tau.

Sa nu ucizi.

Sa nu preacurvesti.

Sa nu furi.

Sa nu marturisesti strimb impotriva aproapelui tau.

Sa nu poftesti casa aproapelui tau; sa nu poftesti nevasta aproapeluitau, nici robul lui, nici roaba lui, nici boul lui, nici magarul lui, nicivreun alt lucru, care este al aproapelui tau.

And God spake all these words, saying, 

I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt,out of the house of bondage. 

Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or thatis in the water under the earth. 

Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORDthy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon thechildren unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 
And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep mycommandments. 

Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORDwill not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. 

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 
Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 
But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thoushalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant,nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thygates: 
For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all thatin them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed thesabbath day, and hallowed it. 
 

Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon theland which the LORD thy God giveth thee. 

Thou shalt not kill. 

Thou shalt not commit adultery. 

Thou shalt not steal. 

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. 

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thyneighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox,nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.
